From July 19 to 24, 2026, the Gordon Research Conference on Mitochondria and Chloroplasts took place in Newry, Maine, United States. STRESSistance was represented there by two of our doctoral students and a principal investigator: Our spokesperson, Hannes Herrmann, moderated the discussion for the session “Proteostasis and Biogenesis,” while our two doctoral students, Annika Egeler and Celina Nauerz, presented their research in talks and on posters. Both doctoral students had also presented their work two days earlier at Harvard University in Boston. We are extremely pleased and grateful that our Research Training Group makes such conference visits possible and that our PhD students are taking advantage of this opportunity to present and discuss their work to an international audience.
